Zachary Karl Lane

Zachary Karl Lane, 60, of Quincy, FL departed this earthly life Tuesday, December 12, 2023 in Ocala, FL. Born July 28, 1963 in Quincy, FL, Zachary confessed Christ at an early age and became a member of the Salem AME Church, Greensboro, FL. He was educated in Gadsden County Public Schools graduating in 1981 from James A. Shanks High School. Upon graduating from high school, he furthered his studies at Lane College, Jackson, TN. During the Fall of 1982, he joined the Kappa Sigma Chapter of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc. He later enlisted with the U.S. Marines for active duty service and with the reserves.

Funeral Services will be 1pm, Thursday, December 21, 2023 at Bradwell Memorial Chapel, Quincy, FL with burial at Greensboro Community Cemetery, Quincy, FL.

He leaves to cherish his memories, his mother, Burnis Lane of Quincy, FL; a son – Vondarius Lane of Jacksonville, FL; a daughter, Claire Marie Poorbear of Pine Ridge, SD; a brother, Derrick Lane (Phyllis) of Quincy, FL; seven grandchildren, Timarius “T.J.” Lane, Vondarius Lane, Jr., Jamarian Lane – all of Jacksonville, FL, Marques Poorbear, Avery Poorbear, Amariah Poorbear, and Alea Poorbear – all of Pine Ridge, SD; and a host of other relatives and friends.
