SPC4 Wilma “Will” Russ was born in Marianna, Florida on July 2, 1947. He was the
son of the late Aubrey Russ, Sr. and Lillie Mae Russ.
He was a proud graduate of Carter Parramore High School in 1968. After high school he
was drafted into the United States Army in which he served and fought in the Vietnam
War. He later received a BRONZE STAR MEDAL for his bravery in the 57th Infantry
Platoon (Scout) and the 198th Infantry for his service.
Wilma “Will” was known for his passion and love of baseball. He thoroughly enjoyed
playing cards, and was a well-known notable mechanic.
Wilma “Will” Russ leaves behind one son, Cedric D. Russ of Quincy, FL; four
daughters, Sharon D. Russ of Houston, TX, Nicole Scotland (Kevin) Richmond, VA,
Katina Washington (Rawn) of Quincy, FL, and Kimberly McNealy (Jeff) of Gretna, FL;
ex-wife, Donella Russ of Quincy, FL; 10 grandchildren; 2 great grandchildren. He held
his grandchildren Ronecia Russ and Ka’Mario Russ both of Richmond, VA very close to
his heart. He had an exceptionally special bond with them. He also leaves to cherish his
memories ten siblings, Parthenia of Quincy, FL, Sandra of Newark, NJ, Aubrey Jr. of
Quincy, FL, Earnie of Tampa, FL, Lorenzo of Long Beach, CA, Jacqueline of
Petersburg, VA, Solomon of Quincy, FL, Delbra of Quincy, FL, Shebra of Quincy, FL,
and Kenneth of Tampa, FL; special nieces and nephews Brian, Ashley, Kenya, Keta,
Chuck and Roc; a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and dear friends.
Preceding Wilma in death are his siblings Benjamin, Larry, and Velma.
