Timothy O. Lane, 83, of Quincy, Florida passed away on Wednesday, June 1, 2022 in Tallahassee, FL at HCA Capital Florida. Born in Greensboro, FL he made his home in Quincy. He was a lifelong, dedicated member of Salem AME Church, Greensboro, where he faithfully served as steward, trustee, class leader, treasurer, and so much more. After graduating from Carter-Parramore High School in 1958, he earned his B.S. degree from Benedict College, Columbia, South Carolina. Professionally, he was employed with the City of Quincy, Parks and Recreation Department, a career which spanned 40 years. He was also employed by Betsey Funeral Home for over 40 years. Tim loved his church, gardening, sports, traveling, and spending time with family. Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, FL is in charge of arrangements.
Services will be 12 noon, Saturday, June 11, 2022 at West Gadsden MS Gym, Greensboro, FL with burial at Greensboro CommunityCemetery. Public viewing will be Friday, June 10, 2022 from 4:00 pm to 6:30 pm at Joe Ferilito Recreation Center, Quincy, FL.
Surviving family includes his devoted wife of 59 years, Burnis A. Lane, Quincy, Florida; sons Zachary K. Lane, Quincy, Derrick D. Lane (Phyllis), Quincy, FL and Vondarius M. Lane (Jessica), Orange Park, FL; sisters, Christine Jackson, Birmingham, AL and Earnestine Jackson, Tallahassee, FL; brothers, Daniel Lane, Nashville, TN and Bobby Lane, Seattle, WA; nephew, Craig Lane, Birmingham, AL; niece, Sylvia Lane, Manhatten Beach, CA; and grandchildren, Lakeisha Lane, Quincy, FL, Delrico Lane, Norfolk, VA, Derrick Lane, Jr., Panama, City, FL.
