Mother Shirley A. Moore, 70, of Quincy, FL, transitioned from Earth to Glory on Friday, June 20, 2025, in Quincy, FL. A native of Quincy, she was educated in the Gadsden County Public School System and graduated from James A. Shanks High School in 1972.
Mother Moore confessed Christ at an early age and served faithfully at St. Matthew Primitive Baptist Church. She was employed with the State of Florida Agency for Workforce Innovation. Known for her love of fishing and baking, she was a devoted servant to both her church and her community.
A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, June 28, 2025, at St. Matthew P.B. Church, Quincy, FL, with burial to follow at the St. Matthew P.B. Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, June 27, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memory two sons: Shawann Harrison (Quanithia) of Quincy, FL, and Michael Moore of Jacksonville, FL; her stepmother, Pearl Ellison of Havana, FL; fifteen siblings: Elnora West of West Palm Beach, FL, Irene Ellison of Tallahassee, FL, Linda Ellison and Vicki Kenon, both of Quincy, FL, Tiffany Ellison Harrison (Rodney) of Havana, FL, Bobby Ellison of Havana, FL, Henry Ellison of Quincy, FL, Stanley Ellison of Havana, FL, Tyler Ellison (Phoenician) of Havana, FL, Mary Johnson (Felix) of Baton Rouge, LA, Deborah Dickey (Robert) of Havana, FL, Fonita Brown (Kenny) of Tallahassee, FL, Winnifred Sampson (Reggie), Janice Reed, and Fernando Taylor, all of Havana, FL; five grandchildren: Shamirah Harrison of Tallahassee, FL, Makaylah Harrison of Midway, FL, Jaylon Campbell-Moore of Tallahassee, FL, Shakera Harrison of Tallahassee, FL, and Josiah Moore of Jacksonville, FL; four great-grandchildren: Sharyian, Naomi, Malani, and Takeriah; a special aunt, Dorothy West; and dear friends Carol Anderson, Beverly Dixon, Peggy Green, Penny Lee, Donella Russ, Betty Williams, and Larry Wilder; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Jolly Moore; her parents, Mattie Mae West and Henry Ellison, Sr.; and her brother, Leonard Ellison.
