Sarah Lou Young Shaw, a loving and dedicated doorkeeper for the Lord, was the second born child
to the late Reverend Morris Franklin Young, Jr. and Fannie Marie Mills Young on March 10, 1942.
Sarah was a pastor’s daughter and accepted Christ at an early age as her Lord and personal savior.
She rededicated her life to God and joined the St. John’s Church of God in Christ where she
gracefully served as an active member for 39 years. She attended the Gadsden County Public School
system and retired from the McClouds Adult Living Facility.
Sarah is described by everyone she encountered as one of the most sweetest people you will ever
meet. She was the pillar and matriarch of her family. She unselfishly loved and raised her youngest
sister’s children and grandchildren. They will forever cherish her as “Ma,” “Grandma,” “Auntie,”
and “Ant Sarah.” She leaves everlasting memories of her beautiful smile as she enjoyed fishing,
dancing and shouting in church, and spending time with her family. She leaves an impressionable
imprint in the hearts of lives she touched.
