Ruby “Baby” Delois Porcher, age 77, passed away on October 27, 2024. She was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend who will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

Ruby was born on June 16, 1947 in Greensboro, Florida to the late Oscar Porcher and Bernice Porcher where she spent her formative years. She went on to attend Carter Parramore High School and later became a Senior Clerk at the State of Florida, Department of Revenue, where she later retired. Throughout her career, she was known for her hard work, dedication, and passion for helping others.

 Ruby was known throughout the community for her unwavering kindness and her passion for tending to her yard. Her garden was a masterpiece, a reflection of her love for the earth and everything that grows. She spent countless hours nurturing flowers, shrubs, and trees, transforming her yard into a sanctuary for the birds, butterflies, and neighbors alike.

Beyond her love for gardening, Ruby dedicated her life to helping others and spreading kindness wherever she went. She frequently visited local food pantries, not just to lend a hand but to connect with those in need. Her warmth and compassion were felt by all, and she was a familiar, comforting presence to anyone who crossed her path. Through her work, she reminded others of God’s love and provision, always attributing her acts of service to her faith. Her love for God was evident in everything she did through the quiet generous acts that touched countless lives.

Ruby is survived by her devoted children, Ronnie Wynn of Quincy, Florida, Subrina Hudson (William) of Snow Hill, North Carolina, and ReGina Cox of Tallahassee, Florida, her siblings Woodrow Porcher of Bristol, Florida, and Shirley P. Dixon of Quincy, Florida, two sister-in-laws, Hester Presha of Tallahassee, Florida, and Zefphine Presha of Tallahassee, Florida, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, great-great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Her memory will be cherished by all who knew her.
