Rosalind Snead, 82, of Quincy, FL, departed this earthly life on Thursday, April 24, 2025, in Marianna, FL.
She confessed Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Mt. Zion CME Church until her health began to fail. Rosalind was educated in the Gadsden County Public Schools, graduating from Carter-Parramore High School. She continued her education at Florida A&M University and later at Chipola Nursing School, becoming a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN). She served faithfully at Florida State Hospital for over 30 years.
A proud supporter of FAMU Rattler Football, Rosalind was an active member of the Rattlers Special Edition Booster Club and enjoyed visiting casinos. She was also honored by being inducted into the Gadsden County Sports Hall of Fame.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, April 30, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL, with burial at Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy, FL. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Tuesday, April 29, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary.
She leaves to cherish her memory three children: Kim Shaw-Grant (Maurice) of Quincy, FL; Marcus Dixon of Havana, FL; and Joseph Barnes, Jr. of Hardaway, FL; a niece, Kathy Garner of Quincy, FL; a nephew, Homer Garner of Quincy, FL; eight grandchildren: Tiffany Dixon of Tallahassee, FL; Brandon Dixon of Tallahassee, FL; Brian Barnes of Tallahassee, FL; Janesha Barnes of Quincy, FL; Joquan Barnes of Jacksonville, FL; Jaylon Barnes of Tallahassee, FL; Zandria Miller of Tallahassee, FL; and Johnnie Dixon of Quincy, FL; eight great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
