Rosa Lee “aka Mama Coot” McGriff, 104, of Havana, Florida passed away, Saturday, July 31, 2021
in Tallahassee, Florida at Tallahassee Memorial Hospital. Born in Tallahassee, Rosa lived in Havana
most of her life. She was a faithful member of Mayflower AME Church, actively serving as a
stewardess and missionary until her health declined. She was a very kindhearted Christian, who
willingly fulfilled the command to feed the hungry, as she would feed anyone in the need of a meal.
Rosa’s favorite pastimes were fishing and gardening.
Services will be 1:00 p.m., Saturday, August 7, 2021 at Havana Magnet School, Havana, FL with
burial at Mt Zion AME Church, Havana. Viewing will be 3:00 pm til 7:00 pm, Friday, August 6,
2021at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy.
Surviving family includes her daughters, Rosa M. Conyers, Havana, FL, Ruby L. McGriff, Havana,
FL, and Anna McGriff-West (Dwight), Havana, FL; sons, Willie E. McGriff (Emma), Attapulgus,
GA and Louis D. McGriff (Bonita), Havana, FL; and nephew (she raised), General Richardson,
Havana, FL; 19 grandchildren; and a host of great grandchildren and great great granchildren.
