Moses Crawford was born June 16, 1932 to the late Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Lee and Mary Lou Ford
Crawford in Blue Springs, Alabama. He transitioned this life comfortably and in peace on Wednesday
morning March 9, 2022. He was 89 years old but forever young at heart.

Moses was born and raised in Blue Springs and moved to Abbeville, Alabama and then moved to Grand
Ridge, Florida before settling in Quincy, Florida in 1948. He attended public schools in Alabama and
Gadsden County, Florida. He obtained his high school diploma at the Old Lincoln High School (night
school) after completing his military service. He joined the military in 1953 during the Korean War.
After being honorably discharged in 1955 he returned to Quincy, Florida. He married Dorothy Mae
Williams in February 1960 and two sons were born to this union. They were married for 33 years. He
retired from Florida State Hospital as a Ward Supervisor, Forensic Unit after many years of service.

He gave his life to Christ and was a committed, dedicated and devoted member of Mt. Pilgrim Primitive
Baptist Church, Quincy, Florida. He was a Deacon who gave many years of faithful service.

He was a member of the Good Shepherd Lodge, American Legion Post 217 and former President of the
Gadsden County-wide Usher Union. He was also an avid fisherman.

He was the proud father of two sons; Moses Raynard Crawford of Quincy, Florida and Cedric Eugene
Crawford of Tallahassee, Florida; brother, Joseph Crawford (Debra) of Quincy, Florida; sister, Margaret
Williams of Tallahassee, Florida; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives. He was an
engaging man with a wonderful sense of humor who never met a stranger and because of this quality he
had countless friends with whom he shared many memories.
