Deaconess Matilda Sherman, 90, of Quincy, FL, departed this earthly life on Saturday, July 27, 2024, in Quincy, FL. Born and raised in Gadsden County, she was educated in the Gadsden County School System. Matilda confessed Christ at an early age and served faithfully at Mt. Hosea M.B. Church as a deaconess and home mission member until her passing. She was renowned for her cooking and sewing skills, always putting family and others first with her generous spirit.
Services will be held at 1:00 PM on Friday, August 2, 2024, at Mt. Hosea M.B. Church in Quincy, FL, with burial to follow at Mt. Hosea Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Thursday, August 1, 2024, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Reginald Sherman (Terry) of Clearwater, FL; Doris Green (Aaron), Stockton Sherman (Lisa), and Evelyn Marshall, all of Quincy, FL; a sister, Corry Nell Emanuel of Bainbridge, GA; and a host of other relatives and friends.
