Evangelist Mary Agnes Washington, 76, of Havana, FL transitioned from labor to reward, Wednesday, August 28, 2024 in Tallahassee, FL. Born and raised in Havana, FL, she was educated in the Gadsden County School System. She confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She served faithfully at the Mt. Zion AME Church of Havana, FL. She devoted herself to visiting the sick and elderly, cooking, and spending time with her family. She was very giving and caring as was affectionally known as the "Big Mama" of the community. Evangelist Washington was a God fearing woman who loved the Lord and everyone she came in contact with.
A Celebration of Life will be 11:00am Saturday, September 7, 2024 at Mt. Zion AME Church (on the Glade), Havana, FL with burial in the church's cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm - 6pm, Friday, September 6, 2024 at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memory six children- Ricky Mathis of Havana, FL, Lolita McLaurin of Cairo, GA. Henry Washington, Jr. of Havana, FL, Shomika Washington of Tallahassee, FL, Eddie Washington of Quincy, FL and Shounteilla T. Washington of Quincy, FL; a brother - Dunk Chambers of Lake Jackson, FL; two sisters - Lettie McGriff and Patsy Swain - both of Havana, FL; 16 grandchildren; 12 great grandchildren, and a host of other relatives and friends.
