Marian Hollingsworth Bright, 81, of Lawtey, FL, departed this earthly life on Monday, June 17, 2024, in Middleburg, FL, at Ascension St. Vincent Hospital.
Born on December 8, 1942, in Travar, GA, Marian relocated with her family to Gadsden County, FL, where she received her education in the Gadsden County School District and graduated from Carter-Parramore High School. She accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior, initially joining Mt. Zion P.B. Church in Quincy, FL, and later becoming a member of St. John Baptist Church in Lawtey, FL.
Marian was employed by the Gadsden County School Board and actively engaged with the Juvenile Justice Council, CEDO, and JTPX2 Children Investment Corp. She had a profound love for children and a talent for creative crafting. Her dedication extended to serving as a Guardian Ad Litem and a Foster Parent.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, June 25, 2024, at Bradwell Memorial Chapel in Quincy, FL, followed by burial at Peetsville Cemetery in Lawtey, FL.
Marian leaves to cherish her memory four sons: Rudolph Bright (Leonie) of Orlando, FL; Lynndell Bright (Andrea) of Panama City, FL; Essau Bright III of Atlanta, GA; and Don O’Keef Bright of Lawtey, FL. She is also survived by two daughters: Jenecia B. Carter-Perry of Savannah, GA, and Turosia E. Bright of Lawtey, FL; two sisters: Florence Monroe and Millie Forehand, both of Quincy, FL; 22 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
