Obituary

Sister Margaret Jackson Pete-Keyser was the daughter of the late Rev. Theoplis Delano and
Alice Mae Powell Jackson. She was born February 4, 1957, in Quincy, Florida.


Margaret attended the public schools in Gadsden County and graduated from James A. Shanks
High Class of 1975. Upon graduation, she attended Tallahassee Community College. She gained
viable employment with State of Florida (Agencies) and the Department of Corrections
Probation and Parole Services, serving dutifully for 30 years until retiring in August 2012. She
was a member of W. S. Stevens Chapter #26 Order of the Eastern Star and Zeta Amicae of
Quincy, Florida.


Margaret was united in marriage to Billy Van Keyser on June 28, 2002.
Margaret accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior at a very young age under the Leadership of her
father at Greater Mount Pleasant M.B. Church. She was a former member of Mt. Moriah First
M.B. Church under the Leadership of Rev. Delwynn G. Williams and Mt. Olive Freewill Baptist
Church under the Leadership of Elder William B. Wiggins, Jr. She served faithfully at Faith
Temple COGIC under the leadership of Pastor Jimmy Salters. She was their musician.
She loved and showed love to everyone that she came in contact with. Her joy was her children
and grandchildren. The Lord in His infinite wisdom saw fit to call from labor to reward our
beloved Sister Margaret Jackson Pete-Keyser on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 at her
residence.


She leaves to cherish her precious memories her husband; Billy Van Keyser; five children –
Shannon Pete-Brown (Kenyorta), Sheldon Pete, Tonya Keyser, Larry Keyser, and Vanessa
Keyser; three grandchildren – Deonté Theoplis Pete, Aikeem A. Bridges, and AiYana D. Powell;
Siblings – James “Pete” Crews(Genolea) ,Calvin Ross (Fannie), Martha Ross, Willie J.
Lawrence, Jr., Harriet Lawrence Bush, Lillie Lawrence, Brandon Lawrence (Cheryl), Ennis
Lawrence, John Lawrence (Carly), Nealie Lawrence, Willie A. Lawrence (Zealene), Timothy
Lawrence, and Alphonso Robinson (Lizzie); Aunt – Willie Bell Green; Uncles- Clarence
McLain and Archie House, Jr.(Christine); Brother-in-law- Mike Keyser (Carol); God Siblings –
Rawn Stephens (Loretta), Annie Kelly (Felix), Ethel Isaac Williams (Clarence), Moya Morgan,
and Mary Cynthia Brown; Godchildren – Derrick Williams, Rev. Jarvis Alls (Montrieal),
Rondarius Bell, and Donteris Andrews; devoted cousins Deborah Kennedy(Johnny), Patsy Pryor
and Cynthia Holloway(Lucious); Special friends – Anna West(Dwight), Jeanita Black Johnson,
Felix Lattimore, Cynthia Henry, Irene Holden, Shirley Griffin, and May Andrews; and Extend
Family (Powell, Pete and House) a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.
She was proceeded in death by her family members Inez Strickland, Willie James Lawrence, Sr.,
Mattie Mae House Lawrence, George and Arrodine Moore Powell, Sr., Archie and Daisy
McNealy House, Sr.
