Mother Maggie Stevens King, 102, of Quincy, FL peacefully transitioned from labor to reward Tuesday, March 28, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL. Mother King was a devoted member of the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church of Quincy, FL where she served in many capacities, including church mother. She was educated in the public schools of Gadsden County and later received her postsecondary education from Florida A&M University. Until her retirement, she was employed with the Gadsden County School District. Beyond her academic and religious affiliations, she was truly a servant within her community. She was a member of Zeta Phi Beta Sorority, Inc. Tau Zeta Chapter seated in Quincy, FL.
A Service of Celebration will be held 1pm, Tuesday, April 4, 2023 at Mt. Zion P.B. Church, Quincy, FL with burial at Sunnyvale Cemetery, Quincy, FL. Viewing will be 3pm - 6pm, Monday, April 3, 2023 at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, FL.
Mother King leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter - Barbara King Black of Quincy, FL, a grandson - L. Maurice Holloman (Denise) of Shorewood, MN; a granddaughter - Jeanita Black Johnson (Fiancee - Terry) of Quincy, FL; great-grandchildren - Christopher Holloman of Shorewood, MN, Barbara Arielle Jean-Baptiste (Orson) of Tallahassee, FL, Hunter McFarland of Tallahassee, FL, and Shannon Holloman of Shorewood, MN; a great great-grandchild - Ezra Jean-Baptiste of Tallahassee, FL; and a host of other relatives, sorors, and friends.
