Kenneth Cross Obituary

Kenneth La Juan Cross was born on August 20, 1978 to Keith G. Cross, Sr. and Jacqueline L. (Cross) Greer in Inglewood, California.  Kenneth accepted Christ at an early age at New Congregational Missionary Baptist Church.  He attended Los Angeles County Schools and was a graduate of Inglewood High School in 1996.  He later attended and graduated from Newbridge College where he received a diploma in Surgical Technology.

Kenneth loved his profession as a Surgical Technician.  As such, he was able to travel the United States and work at several well-known hospitals, such as Georgetown Hospital Medical Center in Washington, DC. Upon return to California, Kenneth used his professional skills at several Southern California hospitals, i.e. Kaiser Permanente, Cedar Sinai, Huntington Memorial and Little Company of Mary in Torrance.

In 2008, Kenneth was united in holy matrimony to Diasheen L. Foster, a former classmate at Inglewood High School.  They have two beautiful daughters, Samiya and Kaelynn.  Kenneth loved his family and would do anything for them.

Kenneth was very friendly and outgoing and would talk with everyone…he did not meet any strangers. Therefore, he had many friends and “extended” family.  Kenneth loved spending time with his immediate and extended family and friends, breeding his dogs, and working to provide a living for himself and his family.  When his health began to decline and he could no longer work, he took up the hobbies of fishing and cooking.  He was a good cook and loved to show off the fish he caught!

Kenneth was preceded in death by his father, Keith G. Cross, Sr., his step-father, Pastor Edward L. Greer, and his brother, Kashif Cross.

Kenneth will forever be remembered and cherished by Diasheen L. Foster; his loving daughters, Samiya Webster and Kaelynn Cross of Rancho Cucamonga, CA; his loving mother, Jacqueline L. Greer of Tallahassee, FL; his step-mother, Veona Cross of DeSoto, TX; his brothers, Keith G. Cross (Charmaine) of Culver City, CA; Kareem Cross (Shawna) of Dallas, TX; Johan Washington of Tallahassee, FL; his sisters, Nakia Mitchell and Kalani Cross of DeSoto, TX; his grandfather Willie E. Murray, Sr. (Debra) of Quincy, FL; and a host of aunts, uncles, cousins, extended family (god-mother, god-brothers/sisters) and friends.
