Mr. John P. Scott, Jr., 70, of Quincy, Florida, peacefully departed this earthly life on Saturday, May 2, 2026, at his home in Quincy, Florida.
Born on October 10, 1955, in Dawson, GA, John later made Quincy, Florida his home, where he was well known for his kind spirit, sense of humor, and love for family and friends. He attended James A. Shanks High School and was a proud member of the Class of 1976.
John dedicated many years of service working with KC Manufacturing for approximately 10 years and later with Rose Supermarket for 15 years. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching old western movies, fishing, sports, weightlifting, and spending time with his beloved dogs. He will be remembered most for his humor, kindness, and the joy he brought to those around him.
He leaves to cherish his precious memories: his devoted wife, Joann Scott of Quincy, Florida; daughter, Romeka Scott (Errick Spradley) of Tallahassee, Florida; sons, Frederico Scott of Quincy, Florida, John P. Scott III of Tallahassee, Florida, and Devon Austin (Alexis) of Quincy, Florida; sisters, Bessie Alls of Quincy, Florida and Effie Jackson (James) of West Palm Beach, Florida; brother, Bobby Scott of Cocoa Beach, Florida; along with a host of other relatives and friends who will forever cherish his memory.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Bradwell Memorial Chapel in Quincy, Florida. Interment will follow at Sunnyvale Cemetery in Quincy, Florida.
Visitation will be held 3pm – 6pm, Friday, May 15, 2026, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida.
