Jerome Oliver, 64, of Greensboro, Florida, departed this earthly life on Tuesday, February 24, 2026, at his home in Greensboro, Florida.
Jerome was born on March 27, 1961, in Greensboro, Florida to the late Jack and Lillie Mae Oliver. A lifelong resident of Greensboro, he was a proud graduate of Greensboro High School, Class of 1979, and later attended Florida State University. He dedicated 28 years of faithful service to Florida State Hospital, where he retired as a Supervisor.
Jerome was known for being quiet, reserved, and meticulous. He preferred small gatherings and valued meaningful connections with those closest to him. Athletic and hardworking, he carried himself with dignity and humility. He deeply loved his sisters and brothers and often preferred the comfort of solitude. Jerome had a special love for animals, especially dogs, which brought him great joy throughout his life.
He leaves to cherish his memories his devoted wife, Edora Watson Oliver of Greensboro, Florida; one daughter, Carmen Witherspoon (Monte) of Charlotte, North Carolina; two sons, Chivas Williams (Desha) of Bristol, Florida, and Caron Jackson of Chattahoochee, Florida; one stepson, Markeise Brown of Midway, Florida; two brothers, Joseph Oliver of Greensboro, Florida, and Charles Oliver (Althea) of Greensboro, Florida; three sisters, Earnestine Brown of Greenwood, Delaware, Annette Oliver of Tallahassee, Florida, and Della Fergerson of Sarasota, Florida; along with 13 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, March 7, 2026, at Pine Bloom Missionary Baptist Church in Greensboro, Florida. Interment will follow at Greensboro Community Cemetery in Greensboro, Florida.
