James Leroy Ransom, 70, of Tallahassee, FL, peacefully transitioned on April 29, 2025, in Tallahassee.

A Homegoing Celebration will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at Tabernacle Missionary Baptist Church, Tallahassee, FL.

A proud veteran, Mr. Ransom honorably served in the United States Army. He was a man of deep faith and purpose, often serving as a spiritual advisor to those around him. He found great joy in reading and was known for his wisdom, quiet strength, and compassionate spirit.

He leaves to cherish his memory four children: Natasha Ransom, Quinton Ransom, Clinton Ransom, and James Ransom, Jr.; four siblings: Annie R. Grady (Walter), Sandra R. Grant (Henry), Allen Ransom, Jr. (Brenda), and Alvin Ransom (Amalia); along with a host of loving relatives and friends.
