Mr. James Jackson, Jr, 60, of Midway, Florida, departed this earthly life on May 6, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida.
Born in Quincy, Florida, James was a lifelong resident of Midway, Florida. He was educated in the Gadsden County School System and graduated from Havana Northside High School, Class of 1984. James was employed with the City of Quincy and later retired from Gadsden County Public Works.
James was a devoted Christian who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and most importantly, spending quality time with his family and friends. He was known for his kind spirit, helpful nature, and warm smile. He always tried to make those around him happy and will be remembered for the love and joy he shared with others.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Helen Jackson and James Jackson, Sr.; and his sister, Angela Jackson.
He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Tammie Jackson of Midway, Florida; sons, Rashard Jackson of Midway, Florida, Detarius Jackson of Katy, Texas, James Jackson III of Tallahassee, Florida, and Jaylon Jackson of Quincy, Florida; daughters, Laportia Cox of Tallahassee, Florida and Mekaelah Jackson of Midway, Florida; sister, Cynthia Pounsel (Richard) of Midway, Florida; brothers, Vandolis Jackson, Sr. (Sylvia) of Gilmer, Texas and Reshunn Lewis (Gloria) of Midway, Florida; grandchildren, Iryon Jackson of Dallas, Texas, Rashard Jackson, Jr. of Midway, Florida, Messiah Jackson of Midway, Florida, Kaiden Brown of Tallahassee, Florida, and Maliah Brown of Tallahassee, Florida; along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and sorrowing friends.
Funeral services for Mr. James Jackson, Jr. will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Peter A.M.E. Church in Midway, Florida. Interment will follow at St. John Cemetery in Havana, Florida. Visitation will be held 3pm - 6pm, Friday, May 15, 2026 at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida.
