Henry Marquette Burke, affectionately known as “Marq” or “Burke” by family and friends, was born on March 27, 1989, in Quincy, Florida to Marzett Rena Riles and the late Henry Burk Jr. He was the second child of her 4 heartbeats. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, Frances and Sylvester Riles Sr., his paternal grandmother, Pearline Williams and his paternal great-grandmother Mary Williams.
He was educated in the Gadsden County School system. In his younger years he was a member of Evangel Temple COGIC under the leadership of the late Raymond Wilson and Vivian Wright Wilson.
Henry “Burke” was a gentle giant with a heart of gold. He had a beautiful, joyous, humble spirit. He was a fierce protector of those he loved, especially his “Mama Bear”. He never met a stranger and wanted everyone to be happy; he would have an encouraging word for everyone he met, even if he did not know that person. His dimpled smile greeted you with warmth, cheer, and love. He was greatly admired by his son Jordyn, younger cousins and friends and imparted words of wisdom to all.
On Sunday, August 15, 2021 he answered the call of our heavenly Father and transitioned peacefully to be with the Lord. He leaves to cherish his legacy of love, his Mother Marzett Riles of Quincy Florida. Daughters, Anijah Marquasia Iyani Burke (Shan), Rhylee Kash Burke (Tanya). Fiancée: Shavonda Williams (Quincy, FL). Son: Jordyn Jones. Daughters: Janiiyah Jones and Jamerrika Jones. Two brothers: DaVonte Riles Sr. (Panama City), Jamal Burk (Tallahassee, FL). Three sisters: Nii’Aurdrey Murray (Orlando, FL), Brianna Paul (Quincy, FL) & Ebony Burk (Quincy, FL). Goddaughter: Ayla Evans. Six nephews: Davonte Riles Jr (Peanut), Lance Ray Jr (LJ), Austin Riles, Micah Riles, Karter Riles and Semaj Burk. Two nieces: Zahara and Lyric Burk.
