Mother Gladys Ash-Hill was born January 1, 1949 in Enterprise, Alabama to the late Ruthie Mae Rogers Ash and John Henry Ash. She later moved to Florida. She attended the public schools of Gadsden County where she received a general education. She would later attend Lively Vocational Technical School earning a certificate in Clerical work. She worked for Florida State Hospital for 33 years. Prior to her retiring she worked as a UTR Supervisor. After her retirement in 2010, she worked as a HHA aide for Home Instead.
She would profess Christ as her personal Lord and Savior in 1978 under the leadership of Reverence Roosevelt Smith, St. Mary M.B. Church - where she served as a Deaconess and Missionary under the leadership of Elder Julius Robinson, Sr. until 2010. She later joined St. Paul M.B. Church in 2010 under the leadership of Elder Paxton F. Rogers, Sr. She served as a Mother on the Mother's Board.
Preceding her in death are her three children - Sheila Richardson, Phillip Richardson, and Odell Richardson; a grandson - Christopher Richardson; and a brother - Rev. Charles Ash, Sr.
Gladys leaves to cherish her precious memory two daughters, Teresa "Terri" Richardson of Midway, FL and Catina "Faye" Stanley (Alphesus) of Midway, FL; four sons, Tyrone Richardson and William Richardson - both of Quincy, FL, Lorenzo Richardson of Newark, NJ and Anthony "Tony" Hill (India) of Killean, TX; four sisters, Ruby Harrell (Dupree) , Annie Ree Lanier (Jimmy) of Quincy, FL, Annie Mae McAfee of Ft. Myers, FL and Linda Davis of Griffin, GA; a brother, Rev. Lonnie Ash, Sr. (Debra); and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, aunts, uncles, and friends.
