Freddie Jerome Andrews, 60, of Gretna, FL, transitioned on Monday, October 6, 2025, in Orlando, FL. Born in Gadsden County, Freddie was educated in the Gadsden County Public School System and graduated in 1985 from James A. Shanks High School. He went on to work as a security guard with Barkley Security.
Freddie confessed Christ at an early age and was a devoted member of Springfield AME Church, where he served faithfully as a Trustee and sang in the choir. He was known for his willingness to help others through his volunteer work with FarmShare and his many acts of service as a trusted handyman. He also enjoyed fishing in his spare time.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 18, 2025, at Springfield AME Church in Gretna, FL, with burial following in the Springfield AME Church Cemetery. Visitation will take place from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. on Friday, October 17, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
He is survived by his loving daughter, Clarissa Andrews Battles of Quincy, FL; his mother, Olivia D. House of Gretna, FL; his father, Woodrow Andrews of Tampa, FL; his brother, Terrell Huston of Gretna, FL; his sister, Kimberly Johnson of Gretna, FL; four grandchildren—RaMiaya, Robert, Romareon, and Royce, all of Quincy, FL—and a host of other relatives and friends.
