Flora Austin, 62, of Tallahassee, FL transitioned Sunday, November 5, 2023 in Tallahassee, FL. She was born May 26, 1961 in Hannatown, GA.
Flora was educated in the Gadsden County Public School System graduating with the 1979 Class of James A. Shanks High School. Upon graduating from high school, she furthered her studies at Florida State University wherein she received her Bachelor of Social Work degree.
She confessed Christ as her personal Lord and Savior at an early age. She was a faithful member of the Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Quincy, FL. Professionally, Flora was a dedicated public servant who worked over 30 years with the Agency for Health Care Administration, ensuring quality health care for all Floridians. She was known for her love of cooking, shopping, traveling, church ministry, and spending quality time with family.
Services will be 1pm, Saturday, November 11, 2023 at Mt. Zion Primitive Baptist Church, Quincy, FL with burial at Sunnyvale Cemetery. Visitation will be 3pm – 6pm, Friday, November 10, 2023 at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Willie C. Austin of Tallahassee, FL; two children, Bakari Lovejoy and Latoya Lovejoy – both of Tallahassee, FL; two step-children, Stacey McMillon and Adrian Austin – both of Atlanta, GA; three sisters, Lorene Montgomery of Quincy, FL , Carolyn Daniels of Quincy, FL , and Kimberly Akins of Bainbridge, GA; eight grandchildren, Amina Davis, Ta’Karius Lovejoy, Bre’Auri Lovejoy, Dyana Green, Destiny Green, Rihanna Taylor, Caleb McMillon, and Jayla Austin; and a host of other relatives and friends.
