Ella Mae Burgess-McMillan, 73, of Mt. Pleasant, Florida, departed this life on Sunday, February 15, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida.
Ella Mae was born on November 7, 1952, in Mt. Pleasant, Florida, where she was also reared and remained a lifelong resident. She was a devoted member of New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully worshipped and maintained strong ties to her church community.
Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 28, 2026, at New Hope Missionary Baptist Church, Gretna, Florida. Burial will follow at 704 Spitz Farm Road, Quincy, Florida. Visitation will be held 3:00pm – 6:00pm on Friday, February 27, 2026, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving children: Mario McMillan (Deondra), Calbert McMillan, Lamitra McMillan, Quavartie McMillan, and Ferontis McMillan, all of Mt. Pleasant, Florida; and Karius McMillan (Yamecike) of Tallahassee, Florida. She further leaves her brothers: Jake Burgess (Estella) and Joseph Burgess Jr., both of Tallahassee, Florida; and Henry Burgess (Linda) of Detroit, Michigan; along with 18 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
Ella Mae Burgess-McMillan will be remembered for her love of family, her gentle spirit, and the lasting impact she made on all who knew her.
