Eddie Williams Obituary

Mr. Eddie E. Williams November 4, 1931 - September 21, 2023 (age 91) was born to the late Dandy and Lossie Williams in Greensboro, FL. And educated in Gadsden County and confessed Christ at an early age
and in his mature years served as a Deacon at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church.

In 1952, he was drafted in the United States Army, serving four active years and 19 years in the Florida Army National Guard (Gadsden County) as the Food Service Sergeant always ensuring his battalion’s nutritional needs were exceedingly met. As the Licensed Barber for the Florida State Hospital, he dedicated over 35 years of service of which he organized and served as the First President for the Florida State Hospital Rehabilitation “AFSCME” Union for five years. After retirement, he went back to his true love of the land and livestock and spent his best days on the river fishing, cultivating and attending to his farm yielding crops of corn, peas, potatoes, greens, okra, watermelon, sugar cane, squash, peppers and tomatoes until the age of 90.
 

To cherish his legacy, he leaves his devoted wife of “50” years Camilla “Earline” Williams. Five (5) Daughters: Elaine Ivey of Tallahassee, FL; Audrey Williams of Chattahoochee, FL; Cheryl Blair (Obediah) of Augusta, GA; Angela Beal (Frank) of Jacksonville, FL; Constance Maben (Steven) of Quincy, FL. Two (2) Sons: Willie Brown (Emma) of Hinesville, GA; Raymond Brewster (Rhonda) of Warner Robins, GA; Sisters: Eloise Williams and Annell Blair of Gretna, FL and Paula Palmer (Sam) of Quincy, FL; In-laws: Joseph McCoy, Rev. Oliver Simmons (Frances), Edith Crump, Betty Roberts, Rubell Beard (David), Dr. Janie Glenn (Rev. Dr. Ronald); (15) Grandchildren: Henry Copeland Jr., Sherry Copeland, Thomas Copeland, Michael Copeland, Jimmy Ricks, Ashley Brewster, Alesha Gordon, Justice Williams, Obediah Blair, Alayah Johnson, Ronald Williams Beal, Cherith Blair, Iman Brewster and Raymond Brewster II; (16) Great Grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, and friends and a Lifelong friend: Reverend Willie E. Long.
