Donald William Howard, 72, of Quincy, Florida, passed away on March 18, 2025.
Born on September 26, 1952, in New Bedford, Massachusetts, Don was known for his quick wit, big heart, and warm spirit that knew no stranger. He had a way of making everyone feel welcome, whether through a joke, a great story, or his deep love and knowledge of music. Over the years, he grew to love Florida State University, proudly cheering on the Seminoles whenever he had the chance. He also had a quirky talent—he could make a weird noise with his ear, a little trick that never failed to amuse family and friends.
Don was a devoted father to his four children: Andrew Howard (Lori) of Tampa, FL, Cory Howard of Rochester, IN, Kyle Howard (Suzanne) of Greensboro, NC, and Renee Howard of Fort Wayne, IN. He was also a proud grandfather, soon to be welcoming his 12th grandchild. He is survived by his brothers, Wil Howard (Angela) of Hamilton, IN, and Jorge Howard of Fort Wayne, IN, as well as his sisters, Carol Payne of Monroe, GA, and Carie Howard of Ossian, IN.
The family will hold a private Celebration of Life in his honor.
Don will be deeply missed, but his legacy will live on in the laughter he shared, the music he loved, and the family he cherished.
