Deaconess Della Mae Green, 95, of Quincy, FL, transitioned from labor to reward on Friday, October 18, 2024, in Orlando, FL. Born and raised in Quincy, she was educated in the Gadsden County School District, graduating from Stephens High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and faithfully served in many capacities at Mt. Hosea M.B. Church of Quincy, FL, including as a Deaconess, until her health began to decline. Deaconess Green was well-known for her love of cooking, quilting, sewing, and gardening. A nurturing spirit, she provided food, healthcare, and shelter to those in need within her community.
A celebration of Deaconess Green’s life will take place at 12:00 PM, Saturday, October 26, 2024, at Mt. Hosea M.B. Church, Quincy, FL, with burial following in the church’s cemetery. Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM, Friday, October 25, 2024, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her precious memories two daughters: Gladys Green Cox of Orlando, FL, and Linda Green Woodard (Solomon) of Lithonia, GA; 11 grandchildren: Ja’nister Herring of Charleston, SC, Karis Daniels (Marvis) of Conyers, GA, Kenya Cox of Orlando, FL, Deanna Green of Tallahassee, FL, Mike Daniels II (Fryneec) of Stone Mountain, GA, Crystal Woodard Carey (Donell) of McDonough, GA, Ebony Green Michel of Davenport, FL, Keith Green (Linda) of Huntsville, AL, Kenneth Thomas of Plainville, NJ, Kimberly Green of Plainville, NJ, and Eddie Bolton-Green of Austin, TX; 18 great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
