Deacon Wilford Kennedy, Sr, 92, of Greensboro, Florida passed away Monday, August 8, 2022 in
Quincy, Florida. Born in Mt Pleasant, Florida, he resided in Greensboro. He was a faithful and
dedicated member of First Elizabeth MB Church, Quincy, FL, serving as a member of the deacon
board for many years. For more than 40 years, Mr. Kennedy worked two full-time jobs to provide
for his family, serving as Food Service Manager for the Gadsden County Public School System and
as Ward Supervisor at the Florida State Hospital, Chattahoochee, FL. He took pride in being a
school food service manager, often asking people he would meet “are you one of the ones I fed.”
He liked meeting people and had an amazing memory. He was also a member of the Knights of
Pythias.
Services will be 11:00 am, Saturday, August 20, 2022 at West Gadsden Middle School, Greensboro,
Florida, with burial at Greensboro Community Cemetery. Viewing will be 3:00 pm to 6:00 pm,
Friday, August 19, 2022, with a wake from 6:00 pm to 7:30 pm at Bradwell Mortuary, Quincy,
Florida.
Surviving family includes daughters, Linda Kennedy George, Palm Beach Garden, FL, Levetrice
Kennedy, Quincy, FL, Michelle Williams (Bruce), Louisville, KY, and Elesha Brown, Midway, FL
and sons, Terry Kennedy (Gwendolyn), Miami, FL, Wilford Kennedy, Jr., Madison, FL, Wayne
Kennedy (Doris), Quincy, FL, Danny Kennedy (Cathy), Dothan, AL, David White (Bridget), Quincy, FL, Barry Young (Tonya),
Tallahassee, FL, and Reginald Young (Kerina), Murfreesboro, TN.
