Charles E. Reese

Charles E. Reese, age 80, of Gretna, Florida, peacefully transitioned on Thursday, April 9, 2026, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Mr. Reese was a devoted member of St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church in Gretna, Florida. He was a retired contractor who took pride in his work and in providing for his family. Known for his humor, strong-minded nature, and vibrant personality, he was truly a character who left a lasting impression on all who knew him. Above all, he was a dedicated provider and a constant presence in the lives of his loved ones.

Visitation will be held from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM on Friday, April 17, 2026, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, Florida. A Celebration of Life service will be held at 1:00 PM on Saturday, April 18, 2026, at St. Stephens Primitive Baptist Church in Gretna, Florida.

He leaves to cherish his memory his loving children: Shanta Reese of Gretna, Florida, and Johnny Dixon (Catherine) of Midway, Florida; five siblings: Noah Murray, Jr. (Mary) of Quincy, Florida, Eddie Murray, Sr. (Stella) of Quincy, Florida, Bobby Murray, Sr. (Jackie) of Gretna, Florida, Helen Murray of Gretna, Florida, and Rose Williams of Quincy, Florida; 19 grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Professional services are entrusted to Bradwell Mortuary of Quincy, Florida.
