Artie Lorraine McLeroy, 79, of Sycamore, FL, departed this earthly life on Sunday, August 3, 2025, in Sycamore, FL.
Born in Apalachicola, FL, she later moved to Gadsden County, where she graduated from Carter Parramore High School. She confessed Christ at an early age and faithfully served at St. Matthew Missionary Baptist Church.
Artie dedicated 27 years of service as a Unit Treatment Rehabilitation Specialist at Florida State Hospital and was also a talented cosmetologist for over 30 years. She was a proud member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Artie had a heart for her community—she loved attending church, feeding those in need, gardening, farming, and sewing.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 9, 2025, at Bradwell Memorial Chapel in Quincy, FL, with burial at Brooks Cemetery in Sycamore, FL. Visitation will take place from 3:00–6:00 p.m. on Friday, August 8, 2025, at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
She leaves to cherish her memory four children: Terrance Cotton (Shelia) of Panama City, FL, Craig McLeroy of Sycamore, FL, Bridget McLeroy-White of Sycamore, FL, and Kimberly Jefferson (Nehemiah) of Wesley Chapel, FL; a sister, Charity Marlowe of Sycamore, FL; a brother, Edward Jones, Jr. of Blountstown, FL; nine grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and a host of other relatives and friends.
