Arthur Lee Bodison, Sr., 92, of Havana, FL, transitioned from labor to reward on Tuesday, February 18, 2025, in Tallahassee, FL. Born in Albany, GA, he later made Havana, FL, his home, where he lived a life of faith, service, and dedication to his family and community.
A devoted servant of God, Arthur Lee Bodison, Sr. confessed Christ and served faithfully as a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church. A pillar of the community, he was a devoted patriarch, deacon, and a man of unwavering faith. He was a retired truck driver and skilled carpenter, known for his craftsmanship, strong work ethic, and love for the outdoors. His legacy of love, strength, and kindness will forever be cherished by those who knew him.
A Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, March 1, 2025, at 11:00 AM at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Havana, FL, with burial to follow at Tallahassee Memory Gardens in Tallahassee, FL. Visitation will be Friday, February 28, 2025, from 3:00 PM to 6:00 PM at Bradwell Mortuary in Quincy, FL.
He leaves behind his loving and devoted wife, Julia Mae Robinson Bodison, of Havana, FL, who stood by his side throughout life’s journey. His memory will also live on through his eight children: Julius Bodison, Sr. of Gainesville, FL; Alfredo Bodison of Atlanta, GA; Brinda Bodison of Havana, FL; Reginald Bodison of Whigham, GA; Christopher Mitchell of Tallahassee, FL; LaQuitta Robinson of Havana, FL; and Cynthia Scott of Tallahassee, FL. His brother, Lester Bodison, of Havana, FL, and sister-in-law, Maxine Ray-Kellogg, of Apalachicola, FL. Additionally, he leaves behind his bonus son/godson, Telvin Payne, of Little Rock, AR, along with 16 grandchildren, 9 great-grandchildren, and a host of extended family and dear friends who will cherish his memory.
A special thanks is extended to Big Bend Hospice for their compassionate care.
Arthur Lee Bodison, Sr. was a man of faith, love, and service, leaving behind a legacy that will continue to inspire those who knew and loved him.
